ABOUT SUNSHINE

Chansa Sunshine Chisha, better known by his stage name Sunshine, is a singer-songwriter and visual artist based in Lusaka, Zambia. Blending retro flair with modern emotion, his music draws from multiple genres, with a focus on the everyday experience of life.

Shaped by the sounds of Coldplay, Sia, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Conan Gray and Julia Michaels, Sunshine began crafting songs in his early teens as a way to soothe the sadness and loneliness of growing up as an outcast.

In his solitude he adopted a conversational, up close and personal style of lyricsm that stuns with his nostalgic, cinematic and catchy melodies, and unique voice.

As both a visual creative and musician, Sunshine is carving out a space where Zambian identity, variation, and artistic experimentation intersect. He’s not afraid to get loud, soft, or weird so long as the truth is in the mix.
